Bruno Retailleau relaunches the debate on Islam in France

Bruno Retailleau, the French Minister of the Interior, relaunches the debate on the forum of Islam of France, created by his predecessor Gérald Darmanin in February 2022, to replace the French Council of Muslim worship (CFCM). He recently exchanged on this issue with representatives of Muslim worship.

Darmanin had preferred this appellation and this format to fight the idea that “Islam is a religion of foreigners, for foreigners, funded by foreigners” and ensure the formation of imams. The France forum of France is a group of experts appointed at the departmental level by the prefects. It is made up of six working groups which lead reflections on the challenges linked to the organization of Muslim worship in France.
