Bayonne: Moroccan in court for a crime of passion

Hicham L., 49, will appear this Monday before the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Assize Court for attempted murder of his neighbor Mehdi, 39, whom he accuses of having an intimate relationship with his ex-wife. The two individuals had a violent altercation in 2021 during which the accused stabbed his victim several times with a knife.

The events occurred on June 10, 2021, at the foot of the apartment blocks of the ZUP of Bayonne, where Hicham L. struck Mehdi several times with an Opinel knife, seriously injuring him in the abdomen and ear. Hicham accuses the latter of having an intimate relationship with his ex-wife, from whom he separated four years ago, relays South West. Accompanied by his “colleague” Mohammed, Hicham went to the latter’s home to threaten her. Alerted, Medhi quickly went to the scene. An argument broke out between the two rivals. Mohammed, knowing that Hicham was armed, used his size to avoid a confrontation between the two men.
