The coach of the Morocco team, Walid Regragui, explained the non-convocation of Hakim Ziyech for the next matches against Gabon and Lesotho, counting for the fifth and sixth days of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, ensuring that they took this decision to preserve the player who is returning from injury.

“I contacted Hakim when he wasn’t playing, you said he shouldn’t come, and now that he’s coming back from injury and he’s not playing, you wonder why he’s not here” , Regragui said on Tuesday during a press conference, putting an end to rumors according to which Ziyech had been dismissed for personal or political reasons.
