At Moroccan school, blue jeans or the veil?

A member of parliament from the Justice and Development Party (PJD – Islamist) has denounced the requirement for students at Ibn Abbad College in Salé to wear a uniform with jeans as an abuse and a serious violation of the right to wear the hijab.

For Touria Afif, the veil represents an authentic and appropriate outfit, respecting the decency and sacredness of educational institutions as well as the educational system.
