Assassination of Samuel Paty: Abdelhakim Sefrioui faces justice
Abdelhakim Sefrioui, pro-Palestinian activist, is considered the main accused of the murder of Samuel Paty, professor at Bois-d’Aulne college, killed in October 2020. Like his seven co-defendants, he appeared this Monday before the Paris Assize Court .
The Franco-Moroccan preacher rejects the accusations against him. “I have never been convicted of violence or of calling for hatred,” he affirms, denying being a key figure of radical Islam in France, as insinuated in the “white notes of prefect Laurent Nuñez “, and denouncing the “gossip” of Imam Hassen Chalghoumi, leader of moderate Islam in France. Placed in detention on October 16, 2020, a few days after the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty, Abdelhakim Sefrioui was initially indicted for “complicity in a terrorist assassination”, then for “criminal terrorist association”, reports The New Observer.
