An investigation opened into a sordid murder in Meknes

A woman aged around 40 has been arrested as a suspect in the murder of her mother, who disappeared almost a year ago, and whose body was found this week in the family home in the medina of Meknes.

The forty-year-old, who reportedly suffers from mental disorders, is accused of having hidden her mother’s body in the family home. The public prosecutor at the Meknes Court of Appeal will have her undergo a psychiatric examination to check her mental state before deciding to prosecute her for the murder of her mother, aged around 80, and the concealment of her corpse.
