American woman attacked in Fez hotel, employee sentenced
A hotel employee in Fez has been sentenced by the city’s court of first instance to two years in prison for “attempted rape and indecent assault with violence” on a foreign tourist who was staying at the hotel.
The young man was arrested after the tourist filed a complaint with the judicial police of Fez, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempted rape. Heard as part of an investigation opened by the competent public prosecutor’s office, the accused appeared at a first hearing during which the judge granted him one week to appoint a lawyer and prepare his defense.
