Alstom, Hyundai, CRRC: who will win the Moroccan TGV?

Several foreign groups are competing fiercely to win the international call for tenders recently launched by the National Railways Office (ONCF) for the acquisition of 168 trains, including 18 high-speed trains, with a view to modernizing its fleet and the railway network in Morocco by 2030.

Hyundai Rotem (South Korea), Alstom (France), CRRC (China) and the Spanish companies Talgo and CAF have expressed their interest in this ONCF call for tenders worth 1.6 billion dollars (approximately 16 billion Moroccan dirhams), reports Railway Supply, the magazine specializing in the railway sector, specifying that the successful bidder for this contract will have to supply 18 high-speed trains to strengthen the connection between major cities, 40 trains to cover regional lines, 60 trains for shuttle lines, and 50 trains for the service of the rapid regional transport network.
