Algerian writer ‘disgusted’ by tensions between his country and Morocco

The growing tensions between Morocco and Algeria, which unilaterally broke off diplomatic relations with its neighbor, have caused dismay among Algerian writer Yasmina Khadra.

“Unforgivable! I am disgusted by the tensions that are disrupting the future of our future generations, disgusted by the crude insults that both sides address to each other on social networks and, sometimes, in the media. I am viscerally Maghreb. I love the Maghreb,” Yasmina Khadra said in an interview with Young Africa as part of the promotion of his new novel: Cœur d’amande.
