Algeria wants to boycott CAN 2025 in Morocco

The Algerian national football team may not take part in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Morocco. The Algerian Football Federation is studying this possibility in order, it says, to preserve its players for the qualifying matches of the 2026 World Cup.

Highlighting the proximity of the periods of the CAN 2025 in Morocco and the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Algeria would consider boycotting the continental tournament and focusing on its qualification for the Global.
