Algeria: Morocco will not allow itself to be drawn into “open war”
Former Justice Minister Mohamed Aujar sounded the alarm on Monday regarding growing tensions with Algeria over the Sahara. During a conference organized by the Al Faqih Titouani Foundation, he urged the United Nations and MINURSO to act firmly to put an end to the provocations of the Polisario and its Algerian support.
Mr. Aujar recalled the remarks made by the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, who denounced last Friday before the House of Representatives the bellicose inclinations of Algiers. He assured that Morocco, despite its growing military power, would not allow itself to be drawn into an “open war” by its eastern neighbor.
