Algeria expels Moroccans via border post

The Zouj Bghal land border post between Morocco and Algeria was exceptionally opened to allow the repatriation of several Moroccans who were detained in Algerian prisons.

Algerian authorities handed over 16 Moroccan migrants to their Moroccan counterparts on Thursday through the Zouj Bghal border post, which was opened exceptionally, reports the association Aide aux migrants en situation vulnerable (AEMSV), recalling that the repatriation of six migrants had already been carried out two weeks ago. The 16 repatriated Moroccan migrants are from the cities of Oujda, Figuig, Tangier, Casablanca, Taza, Fez, Tetouan, Midelt, Khouribga, Kenitra and Demnate, and had served their sentences in various Algerian prisons, notably in the Tlemcen region, the association said in a statement. Their repatriation was done on the basis of a valid passport and a transit document, added the same source.
