Algeria exceptionally opens its borders with Morocco



The land border post of Zouj Bghal between Morocco and Algeria was exceptionally opened, in order to allow the repatriation of several young Moroccans candidates for irregular migration, who were detained in Algerian prisons.


The Algerian authorities handed over to their Moroccan counterparts on Monday 36 young Moroccans candidates for irregular migration through the border post of Zouj Bghal, in Oujda and that of Colonel Lotfi in Maghnia, open exceptionally, reports the association Aid to migrants in vulnerable situations (AEMSV) in a press release. These repatriated Moroccan migrants come from the cities of Fez, Oujda, Berkane, Taza, Meknes, Salé, Taounate, Tangier, Ouezzane, Béni Mellal, Ksar El Kebir, Beni Mathar, and Demnate and had served their sentences in various Algerian prisons. Some had served prison sentences, in addition to more than five months of administrative detention.
