Algeria bans Moroccan flags

The Algerian Football Federation has banned the hoisting of the Moroccan flag during the UNAF tournament counting for the qualifications of the final phase of the Women’s Champions League of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which takes place in Algeria from August 24 to 30, thus violating the rules of the continental body.

Algeria continues to mix politics and sports. The Algerian Federation chose to ignore CAF rules by banning the raising of the Moroccan flag during the match between AS FAR women’s club and Algerian women’s club Akbou, during the CAF Women’s Champions League. A match that ended in a large victory for the Moroccans with a score of four goals to zero.
