Air Algérie loses its battle against Royal Air Maroc
Air Algeria encounters difficulties in establishing itself in the face of competition from Royal Air Maroc on the African market. Despite a larger fleet and an ambitious expansion strategy, the Algerian company is struggling to fill its flights to certain key destinations.
In order to compete with Royal Air Maroc, leader on the African market, Air Algérie has increased the opening of new routes in recent years, particularly in Cameroon and Burkina Faso. In Douala, for example, the company has implemented an aggressive pricing policy to attract travelers, offering prices lower than those of its Moroccan competitor. Despite these efforts, success was not achieved. The flight occupancy rate remains low, forcing Air Algérie to reduce the frequency of its rotations.
