After breaking with the EU, Morocco signs a fishing agreement with Russia
Morocco announced that it had recently signed a “promising” fishing agreement with Russia. An announcement which comes after the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) annulling the fishing and trade agreements between the EU and the kingdom.
Moroccan diplomatic sources cited by Europe Press inform that this agreement with Russia “covers the southern provinces”, reaffirming the Moroccan nature of the Sahara. The same sources added that “with or without” the CJEU, the dynamic of international support for the Moroccan autonomy plan presented in 2007 by King Mohammed VI “is following its course”, recalling the recent support of France and before it , from Spain, to this plan considered as “the most serious, most realistic and most credible basis” for resolving this conflict.
