Abortion pills: Morocco facing a big problem
Consumer rights associations denounce the promotion on social networks of abortion pills after their sale in pharmacies was banned, believing that this practice constitutes a “serious attack on the life” of Moroccan women.
Some social media platforms offer women with unwanted pregnancies pills or tablets used for abortion or “voluntary termination of pregnancy”. A practice that worries consumer associations. For Bouazza Kherrati, president of the Moroccan Union for Consumer Rights, “the spread of these pills is worrying and requires new solutions from the security authorities, who are tracking the sellers.” The official also insisted on “the need for the prosecution to take action automatically based on the monitoring of these announcements and by launching investigations”.
