Abdelhamid Maali: Survivor of a Tragedy at Sea

Five players from the Ittihad football club of Tangier were victims of a tragedy at sea on Saturday, off the beach of Restinga, near M’diq. Three of them survived and two are still missing.

According to a survivor, their boat was carried away by the strong winds, while they had cut the engine and dropped the anchor. Apparently, it was not properly secured. Four players instinctively jumped off the boat. Abdelhamid Maali, a member of the Morocco under-17 team, remained on board and was carried away by the wind.
