A ton of cocaine en route to Morocco stopped dead in Brazil
On the morning of Thursday, December 12, the Brazilian Federal Police made a large seizure of cocaine at the port of Itapoá, in the state of Santa Catarina. The boat was heading towards Morocco.
The operation, carried out by the Special Maritime Police Group (GEPOM), was triggered following the surveillance of maritime activities in the area. Officers noticed suspicious movements between a second boat and the ship, flying the Liberian flag, suggesting illegal activity. Images from the port terminal confirmed these suspicions, showing part of the illicit transfer.
