A strong message from Spain to Morocco
More than 1,500 pilots from the Spanish Air Force have been deployed in the airspace of the Canary Islands where they are participating in the Sirio 24 exercise. A message sent to Morocco which seeks to control this airspace.
Also taking part in this military exercise which will end on October 30 are members of the Army, the Spanish Navy and the Portuguese Air Force. These maneuvers are carried out in the Canary Islands due to the considerable extent of its airspace which allows flights to be carried out at unlimited altitudes, “providing greater operational flexibility compared to other, more restricted European airspaces. In addition, the weather conditions prevailing in the region favor the integration and exploitation of advanced technologies, which expands operational possibilities and optimizes the performance of deployed systems,” explains the Air Force.
