A new battle pits Morocco against Algeria
Morocco and Algeria are competing for the position of vice-president of the African Union (AU). The battle promises to be tough.
Asked to comment on the battle between Morocco and Algeria over the position of vice-president of the African Union in “La Semaine de JA” on RFI, François Soudan, editorial director of Jeune Afrique, said that four women are in the running for the position of “number 2 of the AU”, including the Moroccan Latifa Akharbach and the Algerian Selma Malika Haddadi. And to comment: “When we know the level of tensions between Algeria and Morocco, sadly illustrated by the fight between diplomats from the two countries a few days ago in Tokyo, we imagine that they will not give each other any gifts”. This position should go to North Africa.
