A natural jewel of Mohammedia in danger
A coalition of environmental associations is opposing the decision to transform the Prince Moulay Hassan park into an underground car park, which was adopted following the signing of a partnership agreement between the Wilaya and the Council of the Casablanca-Settat region, the prefecture and the municipality of Mohammédia and the company CGPARK.
In the eyes of these associations, the decision to transform Prince Moulay Hassan Park into an underground car park constitutes “a flagrant attack on the environment and the natural heritage of the city”. In a press release, these civil society organisations believe that its transformation into a car park would lead to “the loss of groundwater, the destruction of century-old trees and the reduction of green spaces already in deficit”.
