A Moroccan residing in Melilla contests the seizure of 11.2 liters of olive oil during his crossing at the Beni-Enzar border. He believes he was the victim of an abuse of power by the authorities.
The man claims that current regulations allow the transport of such a quantity of olive oil, provided that it is not intended for commercial use. It is based in particular on circular IM/1/2022, which sets the limit at 10 kilos per vehicle, and on Order PJC/756/2024, which defines the competences of the Ministries of Agriculture and Health in regarding the control of food goods at borders, reports Melilla Lighthouse.
