A Moroccan patrol boat stranded in Melilla, emergency services powerless
Rescue operations of the Royal Moroccan Navy patrol boat, stranded in the waters of Melilla, have failed.
While rescue operations continued on Friday, the Moroccan patrol boat El Kaced which ran aground in Spanish waters last Thursday could not be recovered. Several boats and numerous operators have been deployed in the Dique Sur area. More than a dozen people – most wearing life jackets – on board the Moroccan patrol boat continue to work. Two other boats installed a floating anti-contamination barrier around the ship which they towed from the port of Nador (Morocco), the agency reports. EFE.
