A Moroccan convicted in Tangier for a murder committed in France 23 years ago
The Tangier criminal chamber of first instance sentenced a man to 12 years in prison for the murder of his friend, committed in France in 2001. The man, then aged around twenty, had fled after the facts and was actively sought by the French authorities.
The crime took place during an alcoholic evening in the company of two French friends, recalls Achkayen. A violent argument broke out between the victim, Imad, and the three men. The situation quickly escalated, and Imad was stabbed more than 70 times before being run over by a car. The attackers then fled, leaving behind a crime that shocked public opinion.
