A Moroccan condemned to endless wandering in France
Following the prosecutor’s request, the Montpellier court sentenced a young Moroccan to nine months in prison for non-compliance with his house arrest, as well as for not having reported twice a week to the Toulouse police station. While he has been banned from French territory since 2020, Morocco refuses to welcome him.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court banned Abdessamad from appearing in Hérault for three years. This conviction follows a shooting that occurred on October 10. That day, he was shot around 7:30 p.m. He was injured in the ankle and calf, avenue du Lauragais, and was hospitalized at the University Hospital for a double fracture. In court, he assured that he had nothing to do with this shooting. He is nevertheless accused of having violated his house arrest and of not having reported twice a week to the Toulouse police station.
