A French hotel chain sets up in Morocco



The development of foreign tourism in Morocco and the growth dynamics of the local market are motivating hotels to set up in the kingdom. A French hotel chain recently created a subsidiary in Marrakech.


Caphotel is entering the African market. The Deret group, founded in 1947 by Robert Deret, one of the 500 richest people in France, is setting up in Marrakech through its first hotel subsidiary outside France, called Caphotel Maroc, reports Challenge. A project which is part of its measured development strategy, adopted in 2018, which aims to strengthen its presence in major French cities and internationally. After the ocher city, the group will expand its activities to Casablanca and Tangier, in order to benefit from the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Morocco, as well as the growth of the local market.
