500 bombs and 30 missiles: Morocco’s new military acquisition
The US State Department has given carte blanche for the sale of US bombs and air-to-air missiles to Morocco. The cost of this acquisition is estimated at $178 million.
500 GBU-39B Small Diameter Bombs (SDB-I), two (2) GBU-39 (T-1)/B inert bombs for training, equipped with fuses. This is the first order approved by the US State Department last Friday, reports Parliamentary. With an estimated total cost of $86 million, the contract also includes GBU-39 tactical training munitions, containers, weapon system support and testing equipment, spare parts, consumables, accessories, and support in regarding maintenance and repairs. Not to mention “technical publications, personnel training, training equipment, warranties, engineering, logistics and technical support services provided by contractors and the U.S. government, as well as transportation, site and other logistics support services. » Boeing, a company based in St. Louis, Missouri, is the prime contractor for this sale.
